“To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.”

– Phyllis Theroux

I received a letter via snail mail today. It was something I haven’t experienced in at least a decade! Oh the joy that I felt, the excitement to see and to read what’s inside!

I had pen pals from other countries like Australia, Norway, USA and Finland when I was in Grade School. Only Stefan from Norway has been my friend in Facebook until now. I lost contact with the others along the years.

I was in a seminar in August 2016 when there had been an idle time, which was actually before it started. I decided to write a letter to my friend and college classmate who is in Japan. I mailed the letter on the same day and did not mention anything to her about it through email, messenger or anything in the internet. She may have been surprised when she received my letter, but so was I this morning!

What a lovely feeling it was to receive a letter once again, with stamps! A letter from the snail mail that was handwritten and spent time and effort to be done. I so loved the heart-shaped Hello Kitty stamp!

My friend is a Snoopy fan like me. She used a beautiful Hallmark stationery paper with Snoopy and Woodstuck design depicting that they too love writing, receiving and reading letters.

With the letter were two pieces of origami artwork made by my friend. It made the letter have some more Japanese touch.

A well wish that is handwritten makes it more heartfelt.

When was the last time that you have written a letter to someone dear? Find a paper and pick a pen now. 🙂
